What are restricted securities and can I trade them?

Modified on Wed, 5 Jun at 12:07 PM

Securities listed on CTSE must be freely transferable unless CTSE and the Registry approve of a restriction on the transferability of an Issuer’s securities.

For example shares of a BEE scheme can only be traded between black persons or for farmer schemes, shares can only be traded between bona-fide farmers.

For you to trade with restricted securities the client must meet the trade criteria of the restricted shares as determined by the Issuer and approved by CTSE and the Registry.

The following table provides a list of the current restricted securities on the CTSE:

Symbol Name Restriction
4ANWKH
NWK Holdings Limited Restricted ShareOnly bona fide farmer may purchase these shares.
