Close Corporation (CC) FICA requirements

The following documents are required for the verification of Close Corporations:


  • Client Engagement form (not applicable to CCs signing up electronically). 
  • Certificate of registration or similar company registration document reflecting the company registration, address and member particulars. 
  • Proof of physical operating address (less than three months old) such as an invoice, delivery note, rates bill or original letterhead. 
  • A stamped and dated letter from the bank confirming the CC’s bank account details (less than three months old). Alternatively, stamped copies of bank statements confirming the same can be submitted (less than three months old). 
  • Exemption from Dividends Tax form. 
  • Clear copy of ID of all managers, representatives / authorised signatories.  
  • Proof of address (less than three months old) of all managers, representatives / authorised signatories. 


For each CC Member: 

  1. Ultimate Beneficial Owner Declaration: A-Trade is required to identify the natural persons owning 25% of the CC (directly or indirectly). If one of the members with 25% or more voting rights is not a natural person (trust etc.), identify the natural persons that own directly or indirectly 25% of that trust as well. 
  2. Clear copy of ID of all above mentioned natural persons. 
  3. Proof of address (less than three months old) of all above mentioned natural persons.
