Foreign Company FICA requirements

The following documents are required for companies that are not registered in South Africa:


Company statutory documents: 

  • Client Engagement form (not applicable to companies signing up electronically). 
  • Copy of foreign company registration documents. 
  • Proof of physical operating address (less than three months old) such as an invoice, delivery note, rates bill or original letterhead. 
  • A stamped and dated letter from the bank confirming the company’s bank account details (less than three months old). Alternatively, stamped copies of bank statements confirming the same can be submitted (less than three months old). 
  • Clear copy of passports of all directors. 
  • Proof of address (less than three months old) of all directors 


Company shareholding: 

  • Ultimate Beneficial Owner Declaration: 
    A-Trade is required to identify the natural persons owning 25% of the company (directly or indirectly). If one of the shareholders with 25% or more voting rights is not a natural person (company, trust etc.) we will require the company structure, in chart form, or alternatively written confirmation (email), identifying the natural persons that own directly or indirectly 25% of that company as well. 
  • Clear copy of ID of all above mentioned natural persons. 
  • Proof of address (less than three months old) of all above mentioned natural persons.
